Dancing Iris

Thou art the Iris, fair among the fairest,
Who, armed with golden rod
And winged with the celestial azure, bearest
The message of some God.

From:  FLOWER-DE-LUCE by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I realize that Longfellow’s reference to “Iris” is not to a flower but to a mythological goddess, but I feel it fitting as I watch my white Iris dance in the sunshine, flags fluttering in a breeze.
